FIBRE 101: BEHIND THE CONSCIOUS DECISION
We’re on a mission to make your fashion choices easier. Wool is a key fibre for us (moreso in the winter months of course). We love it because it’s one of the earth’s most renewable fibres, being an annually shorn and replenished resource. Its unique structure gives it a natural ability to breathe, stay wrinkle-free, and adapt to different climates and situations, and as a fibre it has great recycling and biodegradation potential. Other fibres we use such as alpaca, yak and mohair share these properties. We are determined to only use ethically and humanely sourced animal hair fibres, and we’ve got a strict non-mulesing policy. Our wool growers ensure sheep are treated humanely in accordance with local animal welfare laws, but due to the complex nature of material supply chains it’s challenging to have complete visibility over wool origins. We support producers who are transitioning to non-mulesed wool and will continue our fibre tracing to have more visibility in our wool sourcing.Â
THE WOOL CARE GUIDE: HOW TO MAKE YOUR WOOL LAST FOR YEARS
Proper care for your wool and animal hair garments will mean they can remain a staple in your winter wardrobe for years to come.
Care should be taken when washing wool to prevent felting and shrinking.Â
Never hot or warm wash wool - use cold or cool water only. Wool is best hand washed, but some of our garments can be gentle machine washed – use the ‘wool wash’ setting on your machine.
Only use a delicate detergent suitable for wool or protein fibres. Never rub, wring, or tumble dry wool garments.Â
Place the washed garment on a dry towel and roll to remove excess water then gently reshape and lay flat to dry.
